Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Rate a few titles and the app works immediately. An account adds sync across devices, friends, watch parties, and a higher daily limit for Ask.
How do I delete my account and my data?
You > Account > Delete account. It erases everything on our servers and the copy on your device, immediately and permanently. There is no recovery.
How do I turn off analytics?
You > Help improve recommendations. Turning it off also discards anything still queued on your device.
How do I change my ad privacy choices?
You > Privacy & ad settings. In the EU, UK, and Switzerland you can change every consent choice there. Everywhere, iOS controls tracking itself at Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Why are my ads not personalised?
Because you declined tracking, or you refused ad consent in a region that asks for it. That is working as intended. The app is fully functional either way.
Why does it say something is on a service when it is not?
Availability comes from TMDB and JustWatch and changes weekly and by country. We re-check regularly and do not show a record we know is stale, but the streaming services themselves are the authority. Please report persistent errors.
Why can I not find a film in search?
Search covers TMDB's full catalog when you are online. Without a connection, the app falls back to its bundled catalog of roughly 1,200 titles.
The recommendations do not feel right.
Rate more titles. The engine needs signal, and loved ratings weigh the most. Use Not interested on anything wrong, which parks the title instead of recording a rating you do not mean. Also check You > Languages and your selected services, since both filter what you are shown.
Why have I hit my daily Ask limit?
Ask is capped at 15 questions per day with an account and 3 per day without one, and resets at midnight UTC. Ask calls a paid language model, and the cap is what keeps the app free.
How do new-episode alerts work?
Mark a show as watching, then turn on high-value nudges and new episode alerts in You. Air dates come from TMDB, and alerts fire in the early evening on the air date.
Can other people see my ratings?
Only people you have approved as followers, and only titles you rated 3 out of 5 or higher and did not mark private. Lower ratings are never shared.
Is my phone number visible?
No. If you choose to add one, it is never returned by our API to anyone, including you. It exists only so that someone who already has your number can find you, and lookups are exact-match and rate-limited.
